Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies

The On-Campus Certificate in Museum Studies is an 18-credit program. This program is designed for U.S. students who already hold at least a master’s degree in a related area or for foreign museum professionals who wish to study one or more aspects of museum work in the United States. Coursework includes Collections Management, Exhibition Development/Design, and Museum Management and Leadership.

Full-Time students complete the program in 1 calendar year. (Exceptions to this rule are made on an individual basis.)

General Program Requirements

  • 18 total credit hours of coursework
  • 12 credit hours of Museum Studies courses
  • 6 credit hours of internships
  • Fulfillment of the graduate writing requirement
