Aasawari Kulkarni

Bio

Aasawari Kulkarni is a designer, educator, and writer, originally from India. By employing tools of language, poetry, and empathy, her work explores the intersection of human behaviour and culture with design. She holds an MFA in Graphic Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), and runs an independent studio practice centered around typography. She takes great joy in collaborating with cultural and educational institutions. She has been the recipient of the prestigious AICAD teaching fellowship, and was named as one of Malee scholarship's women in typographic excellence in 2020 by Sharp Type.
