Class Notes
In 2014, the Corcoran merged with the George Washington University. Now we are experiencing a new period of growth for the Corcoran as the GW departments of Fine Arts & Art History, Museum Studies, Music, Theatre & Dance, and Interior Architecture join the Corcoran School, along with the Smithsonian's Decorative Arts & Design History MA Program, laying the foundations for a new cultural hub at GW, and for Washington, D.C.
Alumni from both the Corcoran and GW are doing amazing work and connecting with each other. They are producing remarkable art from films to coloring books and staying engaged whether it’s by founding biennials to stopping by the school to critique student work.
Meet couples who found love here at the Corcoran!
A Dream Realized
Watch this short documentary, 'A Dream Realized,' which follows a young alumni, Maricarmen Solis Diaz (Fine Arts, B.F.A. ’22), as she completes her thesis - a large mural inspired by her Mexican heritage for the Corcoran NEXT exhibition - and begins her career in the months after graduation.
