Bio

Pianist Yejin Lee is an acclaimed soloist and chamber musician based in the United States. Her performances have been praised for their “coloristic and poetic expressions” and “compelling and thrilling rhythmic senses.” She has been invited to perform in prestigious venues around the world, including her solo debut at Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall in New York. Her performances have also been broadcast live on WCLV from the Cleveland Play House and held at the Cultural Art Center in Jaen, Spain, Tyler Recital Hall in Florida, and Yongsan Art Hall in Seoul, Korea. She was also featured as a soloist with the Korean Symphony Orchestra at the Seoul Arts Center.

A top award winner at national and international competitions, including the Dallas International Piano Competition, Kingsville International Piano Competition, and Wideman International Piano Competition, Yejin has had the privilege of performing at leading music festivals and masterclasses at the Mozarteum Academy in Salzburg, Banff Music Festival, Gijon Music Festival in Gijon, Spain, and Piano Texas International Academy & Festival.

Yejin holds Bachelor's degree with Honors degrees in Piano Performance and Vocal Accompanying from Oberlin Conservatory under Haewon Song and Philip Highfill, as well as Master's and Doctorate degrees from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University under Boris Slutsky. She currently serves as piano faculty at the Washington Conservatory of Music and as a professorial lecturer at George Washington University.

In addition to performing, Yejin is the founder and artistic director of Matinee-M, a house concert series featuring diverse concert programs, often in collaboration with members of the NSO. As an active member of MTNA and NVMTA, she manages a private studio where her students have been recognized in MTNA recitals and competitions. Yejin has also served on the jury for regional competitions, including the Elizabeth R. Davis Memorial Competition.
