Bio
Robb Hunter is an award-winning Fight Director, Movement Choreographer and Stunt Coordinator based in the Washington DC metro area. He is a proud member of SDC (director/choreographer), AEA, SAG/AFTRA and is one of only 20 Fight Masters recognized by the Society of American Fight Directors for whom he is also a Certified Teacher, Fight Director and Theatrical Firearms Instructor. Robb has choreographed for theatres and production companies of just about every shape, size and flavor including The Shakespeare Theatre, HBO, The Kennedy Center, Washington National Opera, Arena Stage, Black Spectrum Theatre, Theatre Harlem, The Baltimore Ravens, Woolly Mammoth, The Studio Theatre, Signature Theatre and Ford’s Theatre to name just a few. His choreography has garnered a half dozen Helen Hayes nominations and a “Hayes” Award for Outstanding Choreography in a Play for Woolly Mammoth’s production of HIR. He is currently the Combat Instructor for the Academy at The Shakespeare Theatre and Choreographer in Residence at American University. He has taught or given lectures for universities, conservatories, and workshops nation-wide including The Studio Acting Conservatory, USITT, The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, KCACTF, George Mason University, McDaniel College, Rutgers University, Brooklyn College, The Lee Strasberg Institute, The Fredericksen Intensive, The Summer Sling, and several tours at The National Stage Combat Workshop. Robb holds an MFA in Theatre Pedagogy from VCU and is the founder/owner of the theatrical prop weapon company, Preferred Arms, Inc. Fun fact: Robb was Michael J. Fox’s stunt double and stand-in for several years while living in NYC and, in a related fact, totally robbed (no pun intended) Benjamin Bratt of an over-the-fence home run during the Spin City vs. Law and Order softball game.
