Bio
Marc Choi is a graphic designer, artist, and educator whose work examines the role of visual design and communication in the production of personal and collective identities and the identities of shared environments. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the Corcoran School of the Arts & Design at The George Washington University.
His multidisciplinary practice encompasses analog and digital methods, limited-run prints and publications, and client-based projects. He is also a founder of Track and Field, a collaborative publishing initiative whose work often investigates the relationships among personal, public, and geographic histories within the popular American imagination. Their work has been exhibited at Printed Matter’s LA Art Book Fair, Multiple Formats Art Book Fair and Symposium, and the Detroit Art Book Fair, among other venues.
Prior to joining the faculty of the Corcoran, Marc served as a senior designer on the Experience Design team at the Art Institute of Chicago, where he developed strategies to expand the museum’s interactive capabilities and improve both the digital and physical visitor experiences. Previously, as a consulting designer and art director for The New York Times, he collaborated with teams across the organization to develop multi-channel marketing campaigns and digital product initiatives aimed at audience growth, engagement, and retention. As an educator, he has taught at Maryland Institute College of Art, Parsons School of Design, and Rhode Island School of Design.
