Current Research

Archidae engages in research inquiries related to the natural sciences as part of its architectural practice, aiming to foster deeper connections between people and nature. Current efforts include designing roost habitats for Chimney Swifts (Chaetura pelagica), a Tier 1 Species of Greatest Conservation Need in the District of Columbia. Since 1970, Chimney Swifts have declined by approximately 67%, with an additional 50% of their population expected to be lost in the next 27 years (Source USGS, Breeding Bird Survey).
