Scott Fearing

Bio
Adjunct horn professor Scott Fearing plays French horn in the National Symphony in Washington DC, serving as fourth horn after starting in the orchestra as utility horn. He previously held the co-principal horn position in the Omaha Symphony. His teachers include Jim London and Greg Hustis of the Dallas Symphony and Clyde Miller of the University of North Texas.
An active free-lancer, Mr. Fearing has performed in the Washington DC area with the Baltimore Symphony, Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, Washington Bach Consort, National Gallery Orchestra, 20th Century Consort, and the Wolf Trap Orchestra. His solo performance of a re-discovered horn concerto by Mozart was broadcast nationally on National Public Radio’s “Performance Today.”
During the summer Scott teaches at the MasterWorks Festival, training the next generation of classical musicians to integrate the Christian faith into their life and profession.
Mr. Fearing’s hobbies include fishing, soccer, astronomy, and photography. He enjoys fly fishing for trout in the Rocky Mountains and his images of a solar eclipse have been published in the magazine Science Probe.
