Bio

Lynn Brostoff is currently a Research Chemist in the Library of Congress Preservation Division. She previously held conservation scientist positions at the Smithsonian Institution's MCI, The Artists' Materials Center at Carnegie Mellon Univ., The National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC), and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Dr. Brostoff holds a PhD in Chemistry from the Univ. of Amsterdam, a MS in Materials Science from the Univ. of Cincinnati, a MA in Art History and Certificate of Conservation from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York Univ., and a AB from Vassar College. From about 1986-1989 she was a practicing paper conservator.
