Karthika Audinet is a DC based textile designer and educator with 25+ years of international experience and a background in designing luxury furnishings. Currently, she is creative director at St. Coletta of Greater Washington where she combines innovation with social enterprise.

Reputed for her expertise and enthusiasm, Karthika has been teaching a unique class on furnishing fabrics and textile design at the Corcoran College of Art + Design / the George Washington University and the Montgomery College since 2008. She has also intervened as visiting professor at the National Institute of Design, and given several lectures and demonstrations including at the Mingei International Museum, the Textile Museum and the Smithsonian / George Mason History of Decorative Arts program. Karthika has published papers in the Textiles Asia Journal, and contributed technical analyses and catalogue entries for 9 fragments of Indian origin at Harvard University’s Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection.

She holds two MAs in Textile Design from the National Institute of Design, India and from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle, France.
