Congrats to the Art and the Book program for all your recent accomplishments!

  • Work by current Art and the Book students Beth Curren (Snow in the Grand Canyon) and Maria San Martin (In Their Memory)--along with two pieces by Art and the Book alumna Kristin Gudbrandsdottir (Onomatopoeia and Faces of the Fallen) and program director Kerry McAleer Keeler (For the Birds)--will be included in the upcoming Lark Crafts publication 500 Handmade Books Volume 2. Offering 500 stunning new creations by an international roster of artists, the publication showcases the unlimited creative possibilities of books as objects and as sculptural pieces. 
  • The Studio II project from last year was recently acquired by George Mason University, Fenwick Library Special Collectionsm and the Savannah College of Art and Design library. George Mason has also aquired two of McAleer Keeler's personal pieces through Joshua Heller Rare Books.
  • The Type and the Book project by student Julie Garcia was acquired by Yale Libraries.
  • Two current students, Amy Nichols and Janet Hume, are are interning at the Library of Congress this semester.
