Bio
Jim Mole, a painter and sculptor by training, is a versatile, deeply knowledgeable Internet strategist and usability advocate with more than twenty-five years of experience in advertising, marketing, web design and development. His varied and longstanding clientele include entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and multinational corporations. Early in his career, he Jim was advertising photography art director at Hecht’s department stores in Washington, D.C. He next worked as advertising director for a local division of the U.S. Shoe Corporation. In 2001, Jim founded Teammedia, LLC, a strategic web development and marketing firm; and was a pioneer in the creation of interactive e-commerce websites for national unions. In that same year, he started teaching at the Corcoran. Now, he is helping organizations re-conceptualize the way they meet their audience via the Internet; as well as achieve their mission-critical needs around the world. For students, Jim contributes his multidisciplinary expertise in usability and real-world client experience to the classroom.
Current Outside Position & Projects
- Owner and Director of Teammedia, LLC, providing services to help clients plan, organize, design and test successful websites, among other user experiences
- Currently building a database of product compliance to government environmental regulations for an international branding and packaging firm, based in Cleveland, and its subsidiaries in Europe and South-Asia
Accomplished Work
- A proprietary Android app for the former Corcoran Gallery of Art that visitors could use to guide them through the American Collection exhibit in 2013
- An app for the Centers for Disease Control, with features beyond standard usability and 508c compliance, keeping patients and health care providers updated on preventive care services
