FALL 2021: SEEKING INTERNS TO HELP CREATE FAMILY DIPLOMACY VIDEOS

September 20, 2021

ABOUT LEARNING LIFE AND THE INTERNSHIP

Learning Life is a Washington DC-based nonprofit devoted to spreading learning in everyday life beyond school walls.  We develop innovative learning communities at local to global levels.  Our flagship learning community, the Family Diplomacy Initiative (FDI), connects families in different nations via the internet to share and learn together with an eye to developing a new family form of citizen diplomacy for a more caring, connected world.

Learning Life seeks 1-3 interns to work as part of an intern video team guided by Learning Life’s founder and director, Paul Lachelier.  The interns will work as part of that team to plan, develop and edit one or more videos promoting FDI, including an animated video.

The internship is 8-10 hours per week, starts as soon as possible this September, and ends in mid-December.  During this period, video interns will have a weekly team meeting to discuss their progress and assign new work.  In between those meetings, the interns will work independently to complete their tasks, and communicate with team members as needed.

This internship is unpaid, but offers substantive, resume-building experience, and a formal reference and/or recommendation letter upon request given satisfactory performance.

THE INTERNS WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Applicants can live anywhere in the USA, but should be majoring in communication arts, video production, a related major, or otherwise have demonstrated experience in video production.  Experience with video animation using Adobe Animate is a plus, but not required.

HOW TO APPLY

Email Paul Lachelier at [email protected] with your resume and a link to your portfolio or video work online.  Please also indicate times you are available in the next seven days, including weekends, for a Zoom interview.  Paul will contact you to schedule an interview asap if your experience matches what we are looking for.  Thank you for your interest!
