Day Eight's 2022 arts journalism conference will focus on the topic of book review. Many local books receive not a single review, and with partners The DC Line and Washington Independent Review of Books Day Eight seeks to grow the number of qualified local book reviewers. Interested to try your hand at book reviewing? Selected individuals will be paid $250 dollars to:
- Read a book by a local author;
- Write a 600-1200 word book review following provided guidelines;
- Attend the upcoming conference with a completed draft and receive feedback from professional critics February 26, 2022, 9:00-10:30am;
- Provide the competed review for further editing and publication by The DC Line or Washington Independent Review of Books
