Corcoran Music Festival SPRING: c)i @ GW Textile /Corcoran
GW is excited to welcome "counter)induction" back for two upcoming performances. The composer/performer collective counter)induction, or c)i, has been an active force in contemporary concert music for decades.
On March 31, at 7 pm in The George Washington University Museum and Textile Museum, c)i and poet Marlanda Dekine will perform Ars Poetica, a muso-poetic collaborative project with Douglas Boyce, a GW faculty member and composer. After the performance, GW student poets will join in a celebration of the intersection of artistic domains.
On April 1, at 3 pm in Flagg's Hammer Auditorium, c)i will perform four recent works by American composers, exploring Modern chamber music and its fraught relationships between heritage and invention, and the visceral and the abstract. This performance includes works by Nils Vigeland, Amy Williams, Kyle Bartlett, and Ileana Perez Velazquez.
