Bio

Ben Harvey is a master electrician and lighting designer in the DC area. He is the lighting supervisor for Georgetown University (2021-present); George Washington University (2021-present); and has served as lighting supervisor for Keegan Theatre (credits include The Outsider**, Sweat*, Shakespeare in Love*, Seussical*); interim lighting supervisor for Olney Theatre Center (Dance Nation); interim lighting supervisor for Round House Theatre (Sojourners); interning lighting supervisor for Atlas Performing Arts Center. He is a professor of lighting and production at George Washington University, and a lecturer for the TheatreLab Arts Institute for Creative Advancement. Freelance credits include frequent collaboration with Constellation Theatre Company (Little Shop of Horrors*, 39 Steps, Incognito, School for Liars, Desperate Measures, Is God Is, Constellations); Rorschach Theatre (Sometimes the Rain, Sometimes the Sea*; Night of the Living Dead*, The Figs); Theatre J (The Hatmaker’s Wife, How to Be a Korean Woman, Prayer for the French Revolution, Out of Character, Your Name Means Dream); Theatre Alliance (Covenant*, The Garbologists); Theatre Lab (Man of La Mancha, Hadestown, SpongeBob SquarePants); Whitman College (Iphigenia and Other Daughters); as well as event and dance lighting design and management at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. He is an alumnus of the Studio Theatre Apprenticeship Program (2018-2019, credits include If I Forget, Admissions, The Fall, p.y.g.); and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Washington University in St Louis.
