Beck Harlan is a freelance photographer, video producer, art director, and writer based in Washington, D.C. She spent almost a decade at NPR, where she worked as a visuals editor, video producer, and social media manager for NPR’s service journalism brand, Life Kit and covered science and news as a video producer. She also worked as a photo editor for National Geographic and in the Media and Technology office at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Harlan has an MA in New Media Photojournalism from the Corcoran and a BA in Art History from Furman University.
