Biography

Abby Eckard is a certified Interior Designer and LEED Green Associate, currently serving as a Senior Interior Designer at Washington, DC–based firm //3877, where she specializes in hospitality projects for global brands and boutique destinations. With nearly eight years of experience, Abby is a passionate and accomplished designer who brings strategic thinking, creative energy, and a people-centered approach to every project. Her work is grounded in the belief that great design is built through connection—between spaces and users, teams and collaborators, and designers and their communities.

Abby’s impact on the industry has been recognized through numerous accolades, including Space Magazine’s Rising Star, Interior Design’s 30 Under 30, and Boutique’s 18. Beyond her design work, she is a dedicated mentor and advocate for emerging designers, placing strong emphasis on guidance, accessibility, and professional growth within the industry.

In 2019, Abby co-founded District Design Collaborative, an initiative to strengthen the design community across the DMV region. Through events, conversations, and shared experiences, the collective bridges the gap between emerging and established designers, emphasizing the importance of collaboration, mentorship, and meaningful professional relationships. Abby is deeply committed to cultivating a connected design ecosystem in the DMV—one where designers feel supported, inspired, and empowered to grow together—and she is equally dedicated to mentoring and teaching the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of the design industry.
