Please join me in congratulating BFA Photo 2004 Photography Alumna Rahshia Sawyer in winning the Fondation François Schneider's Contemporary Talents 2012 in Photography! Rahshia's work, "We are not Made of Wood" was selected out of 3,176 participants who submitted works related to the theme of water. The acquisition and exhibition prize of $20,000 promotes the work of yet unrecognized artists.

Rahshia is currently pursuing her MFA at George Mason University (and I understand that she has been printing her large scale work (60"x100") with photo alumnus Dan Rios, currently employed at GMU!)
