NASA is looking to commission a unique painted work for an upcoming conference for leadership and international partners. We are searching for a student to paint a bowling ball (or a foam/plastic ball fashioned to look like a bowling ball) to look half like the Moon, and half like Mars, to symbolize our upcoming Artemis missions. A sturdy base is also needed; we would suggest a flat, square base similar to what might be found under a spherical paperweight. The ball must be removable from the base, and ideally, the ball will be sized similarly to a bowling ball. Interested students must submit a portfolio/website. After initial evaluation of submissions, I will reach out regarding next steps. Students will be compensated and recognized for their work on this interesting project.
Interested parties can contact me at [email protected] or (202) 358-4426.
I would be happy to answer any questions or provide more context upon request. Submissions must be sent in by Friday, March 6, 2020.
