Growing faith-based startup looking for graphic designer with video production/editing experience to help create messages of hope

Faith Counts, a program of the 1st Amendment Partnership and a nonprofit multi-faith organization with the sole mission of promoting the value of faith, is in search of someone talented in design and digital media production in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. At Faith Counts, you will work specifically with the Faith Counts team and its partners to develop, integrate and apply skills and experience per your interests and professional development goals.

 

The top candidate should be able to visualize and create graphics and video including illustrations and animations. Your work should help inspire, captivate and educate viewers, especially Millennials, around the simple message that faith counts. For this, you will need to have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design. If you can communicate well, meet deadlines and work methodically on your own or as part of a team, we’d like to meet you.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Conceptualizing visuals based on requirements and storytelling
  • Ability to use design and editing software
  • Produce, create and publish images, video, animations, memes, stickers and GIFs to fit various media and platforms
  • Prepare and present concepts, rough drafts, and ideas
  • Amend designs based on feedback
  • Ensure final multimedia are visually appealing and on-brand

 

Requirements:

  • Proven graphic designing experience
  • A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
  • Familiarity and experience with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details
  • A degree in journalism, communications, design, multimedia or any related field is a plus
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, adaptable and flexible
  • Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills
  • Strong knowledge of social media
  • Strong Final Cut/Premiere and overall Adobe Creative Suite skills, especially Photoshop or Illustrator
  • Other production/design skills, including running your own website, are a plus
