MA Museum Studies, HDAD MA, BA and MA Art History will have a symposium on April 25, 2019, where selected students will present work alongside a keynote speaker.
Music and Theater honors students will be performing throughout the months leading up to NEXT.
Why is the opening at this time this year?
In order to accommodate the newly merged programs (including BFA and MFA Interior Architecture) into NEXT, we decided to push back the date of the exhibition to ensure their work in shown at the highest level possible. For the BFA Studio Art, Photography and Photojournalism students their work will be installed in an earlier window so they are able to conduct their final critiques.
When will I be able to install?
Due to the diverse group of programs, installations will vary by department. Please consult your thesis advisor. In general, BFA Studio Art, Photography, and Photojournalism will install no later than late April. Other Design majors will install at a later date to accommodate their needs.
What are the exhibition hours for NEXT?
While the exhibition is open from April 25th - May 18th, 2019, people can visit during these hours:
Tuesday through Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 1:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Can I still show someone my artwork outside of public hours?
Yes! If you have video or tech in your installation, please coordinate with Jillian Nakornthap to turn on the technology before the visitor arrives. In order to accommodate your requests, we ask that you make the request for technology to be on at least three (3) business days in advance. If you make a request after that window, it will be up to the discretion of the Exhibitions Team as to if they can accommodate the request.
Who is responsible for coordinating NEXT?
Jillian Nakornthap ([email protected]) will be responsible for the exhibition, art history symposium, and lectures. Any questions regarding label or logistical concerns for installation should be directed towards Danielle Coates ([email protected]), Exhibitions Assistant. Ann Norton ([email protected]) will be handling all of the performances from music, dance, and theater.
