CulturalDC’s Mobile Arts Program Fellow

CulturalDC is a non-profit organization dedicated to making space for art by creating opportunities for artistic innovation, providing affordable space for artists and arts organizations, and supporting creative placemaking initiatives.


The Mobile Arts Program Fellow is a part-time position that reports to the External Engagement Associate. This is a 6- month posting, with the possibility to extend up to 6 additional months, that will provide mentorship in arts management and administration. Individuals should be able to begin immediately.

Schedule & Stipend


20-30hrs/week to include 4-8hrs in the office on Mondays for all-staff meetings and administrative duties; flexible availability Wednesday-Sunday necessary.


Monthly Stipend starting at $1,120




  • Assist with the daily operations of CulturalDC’s Mobile Art Gallery and pop-up exhibits;

  • Act as gallery attendant and a primary point of contact for visitors;

  • Support exhibit installation and de-installation;

  • Support special engagement events;

  • Assist with outreach and management of gallery schedule with fellows, interns and volunteers;

  • Support staff at evening and weekend events as needed;

  • Provide marketing, programming and general administrative support as needed




  • Bachelor’s degree in visual arts, arts administration or similar field

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledge of Adobe Suite a plus

  • Experience in arts or cultural organization

  • Superb interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent written skills

  • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks with attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Experience with gallery maintenance activities like painting, vinyl letter installation, etc. a plus
