Bio

Betsy Johnson is a specialist in contemporary art and theory with expertise in curatorial practice, community engagement, education, and public programming. She earned a Master of Arts in Art History from The Pennsylvania State University and is ABD in the Department of Art History and Archaeology at the University of Maryland. She has curated exhibitions locally for the Washington Project for the Arts, the McLean Project for the Arts, the Arlington Arts Center, and The Art Gallery at the University of Maryland, College Park, among others, and serves on the Arlington Public Art Committee. Currently she is employed at the Smithsonian Institution's Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden as an Assistant Curator.
