Andrea Gallelli Huezo specializes on spectacle, processions, and theater in sixteenth and seventeenth centuries Spanish, Latin American, and Islamic Art. Spanning geographical regions, royal courts, viceroyalties, and time periods, she focuses on the performative aspects of sacred and secular processions in the context of regal pageantry, community celebrations, and municipal rituals. Her current research focuses on Mughal illustrations, with a special interest in the Padshahnama manuscript, the official history of Emperor Shah Jahan. In her upcoming article, she examines the role of royal women in the wedding procession of Prince Dara Shikoh.
