Art historian and architect, Andrea Gallelli Huezo specializes on spectacle, processions, and theater in sixteenth and seventeenth centuries Latin American, Spanish and Islamic Art. Spanning geographical regions, royal courts, viceroyalties, and time periods, she focuses on the performative aspects of sacred and secular processions in the context of regal pageantry, community celebrations, and municipal rituals. She teaches Mesoamerican and Latin American Art at The George Washington University and Georgetown University.
